"Decision won't affect BCCI-PCB ties"

PCB boss Ejaz Butt ruled out worsening of cricket relations with the BCCI due to the cancellation of India's tour to Pakistan.
Butt said while the decision to cancel the tour was disappointing he understood that it was taken at a government level.
"We have always had very good relations with the Indian cricket board and it should remain that way," Butt said.
He said both the boards were hoping that as soon as relations at a government to government level improved the cricket series could be revived as it had happened in the past.
"We were hoping that the conditions would improve after England decided to return to India to play their Tests. But unfortunately this didn't happen and it is a setback for us in many ways," he said.
He said the Indian board had assured the PCB that when conditions improved and they had government approval they would play the series.
Butt said the PCB had hoped if the Indian team had decided to come to Pakistan it would have sent out a clear message to the terrorists that sports would go on.
"England took the right decision and their Test was well organised in Chennai, I was there."
The PCB chief said Pakistan was fortunate that Sri Lanka would be free from mid-January onwards for a possible series.
"They were the only team available in this period and we have invited them for a Test series so that our team gets international exposure and we can generate some revenue. We are expecting a positive response from them in a couple of days," he said.
