India come back strongly on day three

Amit Mishra dismissed Flintoff with the last ball of the day to get India firmly back in the Test after a Pietersen explosion.
Stumps, England are 282 for six In what was a fascinating day's cricket, Kevin Pietersen scored his 15th Test ton to give England a great chance to try and make a match out of it. India started sensationally when Zaheer and Ishant bagged wickets in their first overs to leave the visitors tottering at 2-2.However, India came back strongly to snap up Pietersen and Flintoff towards the close of day's play, leaving the Test wide open.

Pietersen and Flintoff have slowed down a bit after tea but that did not stop Freddie from getting to a fighting fifty, his 25th in Tests. The Indians have been trying to dry up the runs but have not yet threatened to take a wicket.

The second session of the day belonged to Kevin Pietersen, who stormed to his 15th Test ton and third against India. In the process, KP also reached the 4,000 Test runs from 45 matches.
Though India snapped up Cool and Collingwood in the extended second session, England dominated all the way, with Flintoff giving his skipper solid support at the other end.
India certainly need to break this partnership to feel nice about themselves.
Lunch, England are 57 for twoIndia pushed England on the backfoot in the brief first session on the third day, sending back Andrew Strauss and Ian Bell in the first two overs. However, skipper Kevin Pietersen and Alistair Cook have started to look good in the middle.

The second session would throw up some very exciting cricket. Pietersen is in an attacking mood and India would want to see him off quickly after lunch. Pre-Action
Gambhir and Dravid put on more than 300 runs for the second wicket but as the sudden Indian collapse suggested, batting would not be easy on this Mohali track. The hosts have a seriously good bowling line up and under the consditions at the PCA, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma could be lethal.
